Mixed Methodology Approach to Sector Skill Studies
The primary goal of the project is to guide the Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) in developing skills strategies for their sectors, based on market data that incorporates their identified vision for each sector.
Leaders International has estimated the potential change in skills demand based on hypothetical inputs defined by SSCs and public data sets on national accounts, labour productivity, employment, and trade. It has developed two analytical studies, one for the garment and leather industry, and another for the chemical and cosmetic industry. Both studies analyse the demand and supply of skilled-labour within these industries. Based on the results, Leaders International has recommended procedures and policies for a tailored supply approach that meets the demand and ultimately increase the industries’ capacities.
