SEED: Socio-Economic Empowerment and Development for Vulnerable Communities in Jordan

SEED Jordan is a transformative project aimed at unlocking micro-business opportunities for Jordanian youth, women, and Syrian refugees, with the broader goal of fostering local economic development and strengthening social cohesion. By improving access to training, coaching, and financial services, the project empowers vulnerable groups to launch and scale income-generating micro-businesses driving inclusive growth, gender equity, and long-term resilience.

Led by Leaders International, in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) and Microfund for Women (MFW), SEED Jordan builds on proven experience in entrepreneurship support and community development across Jordan.

The project is structured around four main objectives:

1. Raise Awareness of Business Opportunities: SEED works with local community-based organizations (CBOs) to promote a grassroots approach to entrepreneurship. The project enhances CBO capacity, integrates community needs into business strategies, and engages local stakeholders in identifying and supporting potential entrepreneurs.

2. Support Aspiring Entrepreneurs: SEED empowers vulnerable youth, women, and Syrian refugees to turn their business ideas into reality. Through tailored training, coaching, and access to financial services, it enables participants to launch sustainable micro-businesses, especially those excluded from traditional job markets.

3. Strengthen Existing Micro-Businesses: SEED supports micro-businesses already led by vulnerable individuals, helping them grow and create jobs. The project delivers advanced training and coaching focused on impact-driven businesses in key sectors such as ICT, agriculture, tourism, hospitality, and green economy.

4. Promote Inclusive Business Ecosystems: SEED drives research, stakeholder engagement, and awareness campaigns around inclusive business development. The project shares insights and best practices, builds the capacity of ecosystem actors, and highlights the value of supporting businesses led by vulnerable communities.

SEED Jordan will improve the local business ecosystem by identifying development challenges, engaging key stakeholders, and sharing regional and global best practices. Over the course of 22 months, the project will drive impactful change through evidence-based interventions, annual advocacy roundtables, and public awareness campaigns, ensuring that the voices of vulnerable communities are heard, represented, and empowered.
